About Julianne

Julianne D. Bresciani was born in New York and raised in both Kew Garden Hills and Manhasset, New York. The eldest of six children who never quite “fit the mold”, she was a recipient of the Bobbie Brooks Fashion Scholarship award as a senior in high school. Julianne graduated from Marymount College, Arlington, Virginia in 1968 with an A.A.S. degree in merchandising and retailing. She went onto complete studies at The Tobe Coburn School for Fashion Careers in New York and has worked at Macy’s, Gertz, Bergdorf Goodman, and Saks Fifth Avenue, to name a few.

Julianne went back to Adelphi University in the 1980’s to complete an undergraduate degree in social work. She went on to complete her Masters in Social Work from New York University in 1991. After that, Ms. Bresciani had her own private psychotherapy practice in New York and continues to work with people on a part time basis. She divides her time between both New York and the Berkshires in western Massachusetts.

Julianne integrates her creative self in her work with people as well as the flowers and subjects that she photographs. Her unfulfilled earlier creative dreams have come to fruition and full circle in her work as evidenced by her images and life experiences. Her work has clearly been an evolution brought about by the transformative years of meditation and yoga.

What sets Ms. Bresciani apart is the fact that she is a gardener first and truly has an intimate relationship with the flowers that she photographs. Julianne credits her maternal Lithuanian grandmother for her love of gardening and holistic well being.
